Head South, Baby!

We’ve sifted through the internet’s most obscure archives to assemble this album. We have listened to tons of terrible music along the way. Who could have guessed that they listened to bad music 100 years ago? We were dead set on not repeating that mistake. The result is a trippy take on songs about the South from the 1920s. Writing about the idyllic charms of the southern states was a favorite topic of northern songwriters for over 50 years. The Great Depression turned off that spigot, but it was still going strong in the twenties. We’ve selected and upgraded some of the era’s most malleable tunes. As with the other Century Limited albums, it’s always the goal to bring music from 100 years ago into the 21st century and make it sound somewhat normal. Have a listen and see if we succeeded.
